...for the love of the horse.

Pia Steers

Pia was born in the South West of Western Australia – growing up on her family’s Thoroughbred and Australian Stock Horse stud “Tauton Vale” Pia's passion for horses was evident from a very young age – she began campdrafting at 8yrs old – competing in her first open age classes from age 12. With much success, Pia was on the road with solid foundations for what was to follow.

Pia has won in excess of 12 open age drafts – including 4 open drafts.

2007 Pia won the West Australian ACA Open rider of the year.

Pia is a fully qualified veterinarian and works with both companion animal and equine clinics. With her love of horses a job like this comes natural to her – however this is second to none with her passion and enthusiasm for campdrafting and schooling horses. Her interests extend to performing, showing, campdrafting, breeding and veterinary work.

2009 Pia moved to North Arm cove in NSW to be with (her then fiancé now husband) Dan Steers and their partner in business Dan James where they managed their horse training facility.

2015 - Bought their property in Kootingal NSW where they have settled to raise their family and continue with the horse training facility.

As well as performing at shows with her husband Pia also works as a veterinarian.

Pia is looking forward to furthering her training, performing, competing and veterinary work on the east coast of Australia.
