Man From Snowy River Festival Show
Welcome to our beautiful Upper Murray, the home of Jack Riley and Corryong’s Man From Snowy River Bush Festival.
In 1995 a local was asked, “if they could create an event which truly reflected what the Man From Snowy River poem meant to our Australian horsemen and women?”
The event celebrated in Corryong that year was the 100th year anniversary of Angus & Robertson’s publication of Banjo Paterson’s iconic poem “The Man From Snowy River.” The result, 13 weeks later was the inaugural Man From Snowy River Challenge, won by Bill Willoughby a very well-known horseman from South Australia. This uniquely Australian Festival consists of an array of events that celebrate everything “country”. Showcasing our heritage, history, art and age-old skills that are still widely used today. Our music, poetry and our love for this amazing part of the world. Plus, the love and respect for our animals is all celebrated and on show for you to enjoy. Not to mention the opportunity to invite a few mates along to share.
Therefore we take great pleasure in welcoming you here for a wonderful Festival. And as the saying goes…
